Question

Part 2 of 2 Question 34 of 40 5 0 Points 30% of the fifth grade students in a large school district read below grade level The distribution o sample proportions of sam s of 100 students from this population is normal with a mean of 0.30 and a standard deviation of 0 045 Suppose that you select a sample of 100 fith grade students from this district and find that the proportion that reads below grade level in the sample is 0 36. What is the probability that a second sample would be selected with a proportion less than 0 362 O A 08932 0 B. 0.8920 O C. 0 9032 D 09048 Mark for Review What's.This? pe here to search

Explanation / Answer

It has been given that population mean =0.3 and population std deviation is 0.045

while we need to find the probability with sample mean X' < 0.36

As we know the formula to find z value

Z= (X'-mu)/(sd)

Z= (0.36-0.3)/(0.045)

Z= 1.3

And now looking at the probability for the same from the z table for z va;ue of 1.3 we get the eare under the curve as 0.9032 which is seen from the z table for the z value of 1.3 and hence we can say that the prob is 0.9032

Hope the above answer has helped you in understanding the proble. Please upvote the ans if it has really helped you. Good Luck!!
