Explanation / Answer

Question 1

Tradition Technique

a.The photograph of Senator Millard Tydings' electoral defeat in 1950. The photo of Tydings (right) conversing with Earl Browder (left), a leader of the American Communist party, was meant to suggest that Tydings had communist sympathies.

b.In 1960 the U.S. Olympic hockey team defeated the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia to win its first Olympic gold medal in hockey. The photo of the team member Bill Cleary, Bob Cleary and John Mayasich were superimposed to the picture of players Bob Dupuis, Larry Alm and Herb Brooks, respectively.

Manipulated Digitally

a.Republican U.S. presidential candidate Ted Cruz was accused of being dishonest when a website featured a photo of Marco Rubio shaking hands with Democratic President Barack Obama.

b.A photo of Kristen Yarrows was framed to be supporting Duke in a Duke-Gonzaga game. But in reality she is a supporter of Wisconsin.

By considering the images above mentioned if we look closely to the image which are being superimposed using traditional method can be identified easily. As the techniques are not that much updated. Like the photos of the football player can be identified easily as they are being superimposed. But if we see the photos which are manipulated digitally can be hard to understand. As the color correction, environment correction, proper shadowing are hard to find any fault. So the images which are manipulated digitally are hard to recognize and are the most misleading ones.

Question 2
