5) What is the purpose of HSDB in JIAWG architecture? pts) 6) What is the purpose of PI beckplane bus in advanced JIA WG architecture? (2pts) 7) The JIAWG SAE-driven S0 Mbits's HSDB failed to achieve commercial or militatry acceptance True (2pts) False What is the primary difference between JIA WG architecture and the avionies architecture implemented on F-22?Cpts) 8) 9) Name the different certification levels of sulety critical applications of avionics software? (7pts) Consider the following situations and suggest the level of software certification required for each application responsible for proper function. a) A software malfunction that causes: GEN ALL OFF - No cngine driven generator or APU generator is supplying electrical power Consequences Land at the nearest suitable airport Manual aircraft control required Wing and Anti-ice inoperative Avionics cooling inoperative Flap extension may be limited · * *

Explanation / Answer

5. JIAWG is a Joint Integrated Avionics working group. It is based on the avionic system which uses a modular technology. Avioinic systems are the electronic systems used in the aircraft, in which JIAWG is one of the group implementing the system with a modular technology.
HSDB is the high speed data bus which is used in the JIAWG to increase the speed of the avionics, i.e the speed of navigation.
6.In the advanced JIAWG architecture the bus is updated as PI- backplane bus such that the computer systems used in the architecture will get the ability of exchanging and making use of their information from the neighbouring systems.
7. TRUE.
As we know the JIAWG architecture which has SAE AS4710 has a transfer rate of 50 Mega bytes per second only. Hence it has failed to acheive commercial or military acceptance.
8.
JIAWG architecture works with a normal approach as stated above but the avionics architecture implemented on F-22 module uses the integrated approach. Hybrid circuits are implemented in the F-22 moduled to reduce the number of pin outs from the modules, which increases the efficiency of the avionic system.
