Ans:

a)Total number of observations=210+130+60=400

Expected count can be calculated as 0.6*400=240,0.25*400=100,0.15*400=60

Test statistic:

chi square score=12.75

degree of freedom=3-1=2

p-value=CHIDIST(12.75,2)=0.0017

Assume significance level=0.01

As,p-value<0.01,we reject null hypothesis.

b)

There is not enough evidence to suggest that observed number of people this year in each category are distributed as per distribution 4 years ago or expected distribution.
