Question
2. For each of the following situations, decide which of the multiplecomparison procedures would be most appropriate (a) The researcher is very concerned about falsely declaring any pair of agents significantly different. (b) The research is concerned about failing to to declaire a pair of agents significantly different when the population means are different, but still wants to limit the rate of Type-I errors. (e) The rescarcher is very concernod about failing to doclarc a pair of agents significantly different when the population means are different.Explanation / Answer
2(a) is the type 1 error
Type 1 error is the rejecting a null hypothesis when it is true , that is accepting a false alternative hypothesis
Null hypothesis is the hypothesis of no difference, that pair of agents are not different
And alternative hypothesis is there is significant difference between two pairs of agents
2(b) is the type 2 error
Type 2 error is the accepting a false null hypothesis
Researchers would be concerned about decreasing tye 2 error , thus increasing power
Where power is rejecting null hypothesis when it is false
That is declaring the pair of agents significantly different when population means are not different
