and intercept bo =Ybar-b1*Xbar =9-0.7093*7=4.0349

tehrefore  regression equation:Yhat =4.0349+0.7093*X

b)  percentage of the variance accounted for by the regression equation =coefficient of variation

=(SP)2/(SSwife*SShusband) =(122)2/(172*106)=0.8164
