Question

The implication of the Obama-era Net Neutrality Order is that ISPs and governments regulating the Internet should treat all data on the internet the same, not discriminating or charging differentially by user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or mode of communication. At first glance, this implication appears to be egalitarian and ensure that the Internet is available to all content providers. ISPs won't be able to throttle data based on usage or charge a premium to ensure a fast lane to the consumers of content.

While this sounds good in principle, the devil can often be in the details. For example, when it comes to getting data to your device or TV, different kinds of data have different requirements. The bits comprising an email don’t need to arrive at your computer all in the same order they were sent, but the bits in streaming video or audio do. Receiving the data bits in the wrong order or at the wrong time can cause video distortions, stutters and other playback problems.

One can also argue that getting the government out of regulating the Internet also leaves it to market dynamics to solve the problem of cost-effectively delivering content where consumers want it. Spectrum, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon and other ISPs will now have an equal footing with Netflix, Google, Facebook and other content providers.

Please answer the following questions: Do you think your access to smaller content providers will now be impaired as a result of the FCC actions? Do you think net neutrality will cost consumers more or less for access to the Internet? Explain why or why not.

Explanation / Answer

I dont think access to smaller content providers will now be impaired as a result of the FCC actions since obama era net neutrality rule says internet service provider offer equal charges for all web content . this inculdes hiher quality delivery and . it has 3 different rules blocking , throttling, paid prioritatization

and i dont think net neutrality will cost consumers more or less for access to the Internet since means net neautrallity treating internet traffic same. FCC has already stated rules for for internet service provider for blocking , throttling, paid prioritatization . also net neautrality regulation includes human rights and consumer advocate.
