need an explanation for this particle physics question

For a. only. b and c I understand. What exactly is happening? What is the g?

10. Answer the following questions about particle physics a. Two neutrons (quark content:udd) are attracted to one another inside the nucleus through the exchange of a (quark content: uu ). Draw a Feynman diagram showing this process. b. The range of the interaction in part a. is approximately 10-m. Use this information to estimate the mass of the . Show all of your work. C. Give an example of an interaction that involves the weak nuclear force. To estimate the mass of the 'll use the idea that it is a virtual particle that exists on 'borrowed energy 2d lu /n

Explanation / Answer

Striaght lines are representing particles before and after interaction. The strong force between the quarks( like up quark shown here) is mediated by gluons while between the subatomic particles(when you look at the whole thing like neutron itself or proton)that exchange of strong force is mediated by pions.

In the diagram the interaction between two neutrons is happening through the exchange of virtual pions. The pions and neutrons are composed of quarks. At quark level the force between two is mediated through gluons between the two up quarks.
