Explanation / Answer

How many treatments are there in the study?

Between groups df = 2

Therefore, number of treatments = 2+1=3

What is the total sample size?

Total df = 20

Therefore, total sample size = 20+1=21

What is the critical value of F?

By using F table, critical value of F at df1=2 and df2=18 and 0.05 level of significance is 3.55.

Write out the null hypothesis and the alternate hypothesis?

Null: There is no significant difference between group means

Alternative: Atleast one group mean is different from others.

What is your decision regarding the null hypothesis?

Since F=5.15 is greater than critical value of F, reject the null hypothesis.

Can we conclude any of the treatment means differ?

Yes because null hypothesis is rejected.
