Question
If you have 3 pots, a small, a medium, and a large pot, and you fill the small pot with 2 cups of water (474 grams in weight), the medium pot with 3 cups of water (711 grams in weight), and the large pot with 4 cups of water (948 grams in weight), then turn on the heat for them all at the same time to see which will boil first. You record the scores showing the small pot boiled at 4 minutes 57 seconds, the medium pot boiled at 6 minutes and 50 seconds and the large pot boiled at 5 minutes and 26 minutes. Can you show me all the steps that it would take to do an ANOVA using the information that is provided including showing all steps clearly with no abbreviations and showing all work with explanations? I am looking for someone to actually do all the steps of the ANOVA so that I can see how it is done. I cant figure it out and that is the help I am asking for please.
Explanation / Answer
1. Repeat the experiment n1, n2 and n3 times or n1=n2=n3 in these three pot respectively.
2. Record the time taken to boil the water seperately for those three pots. Let us put Yij ( time taken for boil the water comming from ith pot with replicate j; i=1,2,3 and j= 1,2,..., ni).
3. Put the Yij as a response variable and put 1, 2 and 3 respectively for pot small mediaum and large as a factor.
4. Use any statistical software to compare the mean boiling time of these three pots.
