Question

The data represent the time, in minutes, spent reading a political blog in a day. Construct a frequency distribution using 5 classes. In the table, include the midpoints, relative frequencies, and cumulative frequencies. Which class has the greatest frequency and which has the least frequency? Complete the table, starting with the lowest class limit. (Simplify your answers.) Which class has the greatest frequency? The class with the greatest frequency is from to Which class has the least frequency? The class with the least frequency is from to

Explanation / Answer

Answer

Here the dataset consisting 20 data values of time , in minutes spent reading a political blog in a day, is given as

33 9 12 34 24 39 34 23 2 28 4 9 36 18 35 33 37 17 0 2

Now here note that the minimum value is 0 and the maximum value is 39. So lets divide the range 0 to 39 in 5 classes each consisting 8 units as follows,

0-7 , 8-15 , 16-23 , 24-31 , 32-39.

So the classes and the corresponding frequency , including the midpoints , relative frequencies and cumulative frequencies is given below,

Now we note that,

The class with the greatest frequency is from 32 to 39

And

The class with the least frequency is from 24 to 31

Hence the answer...........
