During my kids opening day for baseball, there are a series of raffle prizes. During the course of the day there are 10 different prizes that people can place raffle tickets in a basket for. At the end of the day, a single ticket is pulled from the tickets submitted for each prize. For this problem at the end of the day each basket of tickets has 200 tickets in it. My daughter has 10 tickets. She wants to win at least one prize. She wants to know if it is better put all 10tfckets in 1 basket or to put 1 ticket in each of the 10 baskets. To determine the probability that at least one of the events will occur, examine the probability that none of the events will occur. Please provide calculations and a answer to which is better - all in 1 basket or 1 in each.

probabilty of winning at least one prize if all 10 tickets in one basket =10/200 =0.05

probabilty of winning at least one prize if each ticket in differnet baskets=1-P(she won nothing)

=1-(199/200)10 =0.0489

hence it is better to put all ticket in one basket cause probability of winning in that way is higher
