The probability that any particular valve will open on demand is .90. Assuming independent operation of the valves, calculate PO at least one valve opens and P at least one valve fails to open

Explanation / Answer

1.

(A) THere are 4 aces in a deck of 52 cards. Hence the probability of chosing one ace is 4/52 =1/13

(B)Probability that two heads turns up when a coin is tossed up = P(H)*P(H) = 1/2*1/2 = 1/4

(C)Probability that two sixes turned up = P(6 on first dice)*P(6 on second dice) = 1/6 * 1/6 = 1/36
