Question
Exhibit 4-3. There is a bank data set on customers characterized by four categorical variables: Female 1 if a customer is a female Married 1 if a customer is married 0 otherwise (0 otherwise 1 if a customer has a mortgage (1 if a customer has a car loan Mortgage to otherwise Car Loan 0 otherwise AnxLMiner result of a hierarchical clustering method applied on this data set is: Rowlabels count cluster D sum of Female Sum of Married sum of car Loan sum of Mortgage 30 17 24 Grand Total 34. Refer to Exhibit 4-3. The data set consists of customers. a. 12 b. 13 c. 14 d. 30 Ans: D 35. Refer to Exhibit 4-3. How many customers are unmarried? a. 24 d. 0Explanation / Answer
34) Data set of bank customers are clustered in three clusters labelled as cluster 1 , cluster 2 , cluster 3.
Cluster 1 contain 28 customers , Cluster 2 contain 1 customer & Cluster 3 contain also 1 customer.
Total customers=28+1+1=30
Hence, answer is option D).
35) Note that there are 30 customers out of which 24 are married.
Total number of unmarried customers =30-24=6
Hence, answer is option B).
36) Note that there are 28 customers in cluster 1 out of which 24 are married.
Total number of unmarried customers in cluster 1=28-24=4
Hence, answer is option C).
37) Note that there are 28 customers in cluster 1 out of which 17 are females.
Total number of male customers in cluster 1=28-17=11.
Hence, answer is option B).
38) Answer of this question is option D) because it is only given that in cluster 1 there are 17 females & 24 are married which may be male or female from which we can't solve given question.
39) In cluster 1 there are 28 customers out of which 12 have a car loan.
Hence, answer is option A).
40) Note that cluster 3 contains 1 customer.See the column corresponding to cluster 3 & number 1 .From that , it is clear this customer has a car loan.Since there is no any other customer in cluster 3 , that particular customer is not female , not married & has no mortgage loan.
Hence, answer is option B).
