I am doing a statistics project where my null hypothesis will be that a poor diet increases the chance of developing obesity and 4 other chronic diseases. Data online did not have enough data to use a population study. I am now doing a sampling of 30 adults where I am asking them to rate their diet and then ask them what chronic diseases they have and their weight. How do I put that information in a table and histogram or pie chart? How do I weigh the information so I can do a t test and test my hypthesis? In class are problems were easy to test like number of boxes and radios. Lots of data on the web but nothing that pinpoints diet vs health that gave me how many each chronic illness and obesity each individual had.

In order to test the H0: poor diet increases the chance of developing obesity and 4 other chronic diseases, and also to perform a t test to conclude the result, one should do either of the followings.

1. Take random samples of adults and note their weight, type of diet and presence of any chronic illness. The diet can be rated based on a standard chart available in health websites and can be categorized as poor, normal, or rich. Consider the poor diet adults, and note their weight after 1 month. Conduct a paired t test.

2. Take random samples of poor diet adults and note their weight and compare it with adults who receive normal diet. Conduct a 2-sample t test.
