Describe a situation at work or in your personal life where you think applying simulation will be beneficial. In particular, describe the decision(s) that need to be made, and why simulation would be beneficial. If you do not have such a decision scenario at work or at home, feel free to use the internet to find a situation where simulation proved beneficial. In this case, make sure you describe the situation, address why simulation was the appropriate tool and speak to the results of the simulation modeling.

Explanation / Answer

Before getting along with the answer of the question I would like to explain what is does Simulation based learning mean.

It is a technique which can be used and applied to many different disciplines and work areas to replace the real life experiences with ones that evoke or replicate substantial aspects of the real world in a fully interactive way.

I personally dont have any experience with Simulation but am aware of situations where it is used.

Simulation has been used in Medical science since long time. As some experiments cannot be done directly on human there was a requirement of simulation in the field of Medical science.

Many simulators were provided in beginning but in 1990's Advanced Human Patient Simulator was created which was used to study the effects of Anesthesia and other procedural surgeries on humans without directly interacting with humans. This lead to refinement and development of Medical , nursing and other health care staff's skills.

Simulation has now begun to change the ways in which medicine is taught and how trainees and junior doctors acquire the relevant skills.
