of aspirin tablets The acceptance sampling plan is to randomly select and test 14 tablets, then accept the A pharmaceutical company receives large shipments hole batch if there is only one or one that doesn't meet the required specifications. If a particular shipment of thousands of aspirin tablets actual has a 2% rate of defects, what is the probability that this whole shipment will be accepted? The probability that this whole shipment will be accepted is L. (Round to three decimal places as needed.)Explanation / Answer
1.0
The lot will be accepted if atlast 13 out of 14 are good. So as probability that given tablet is good is 0.98.
We need to find P(x>=13)=P(x=13)+P(x=14)
P(x=14)=0.98^14=0.7536
P(x=13)=14*0.02*0.98^13=0.2153
So P(x>=9)=0.7536+0.2153=0.9689
