Species name: Orangutans.
They live in smaller areas of Sumatra and Borneo.
1.a) Rainforests are converted to agricultural lands. Illegal logging activities caused large scale deforestation which caused the orangutans to move from their native place.
b) The zoo has collaborated with the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Programme and Tuanan Orangutan Research Programme. They use orangutan friendly land usage policies, impose restrictions of logging activities, use conseravtion drones to identify areas with illegal logging activities. They then report it to the authorities. Also, they rescue oranguatng from high risk areas, keep them in rescue center, prepare them for the wild, release them in a safer location.
This strategy is likely to be effective since orangutans will get a safer place, food resources and shelter. They will not die due to loss of habitat or food. They will also be prepared to dwell in wilder areas. Releasing in safer locations will help them to thrive better.
