I can only answer 1 question at a time so I am solving question 1. Please note that I am answering this question assuming myself in a middle class family.
I didn't knew much about student debt crisis before joining this class. I only knew that student loan is increasing day by day but didn't knew that it will take a form of crisis.
As we all know, today the college free is very high and hence many students have to take student loan and many others cannot take admission in good universities just because of their high fees. As I belong to middle class family, so dur to high fees of universities I would not be able to pay my fees if I couldn't get student loan.
I support free college tuition as this would help manage poor or middle class student to pursue their career in a good universitie and the merit and credibility of student will remain the only criteria for admission in such universities.
I don't think free college tuition will be a waste of taxpayers money as this money would be utilized for higher education which will, one day, prove helpful to all the people of country.
Absolutely, this can be seen as a investment. As money invested in education will be helping the nation in one way or the other and hence this can be seen as investment with a sured return. It should also be noted that as the polarity between rich and poor is increasing day by day, so frre college tuition will help in curing this increasing polarity by allowing the poor section of society to nourish.
