Into each quart of Continental Mocha go 1 egg and 3 cups of cream. You have in stock 550 eggs and 1050 cups of cream. How many quarts of each flavor should you make in order to use up all the eggs and cream?

M quarts = Mocha
2V + M = 500 ......this is the egg situation......(1)
3V + 3M = 1050 .....this is the cream situation....(2)
Multiply equation (1) by -3
-6V - 3M = -1500
3V + 3M = 1050

3V = 450
V = 150 quarts
M= 200 quarts

200 quarts of Vanilla will use 400 eggs and 600 cups of cream.
