I want to conduct an experiment for an engineering statistics course and want to test the relationship between fuel efficiency with and without an aftermarket intake kit installed on my vehicle. So far I have my experiment set up so that I have a predetermined route between two gas stations a set mileage and will drive that route 15 times for before and after the kit is installed. Also for the data I will be filling up at the station each time noting the amount of gasoline pumped into the tank. Using this I will determine a set of 15 Mpgs for each condition. Controls include the ac off, normal driving habits, also testing this for highway mpg. Is this a suitable experiment to conduct for seeing if there is a positive/negative/no relation? Also what type of statistical test would be best for this? T-test? F-test. Would like some feedback or new ideas to improve testing. IN THIS WE NEED TO FIND THE RELATION BETWEEN THE EFFICIENCY OF FUEL BEFORE AND AFTER HAVING THE KID INSTALLED IN THE CAR. THIS WILL INCLUDE TAKING THE AVERAHE FOR 15 TIMES IN BOTH THE TIMES THAT IS AFTER AND BEFORE THE KIT INSTALLATION. YES THIS IS A SUIATABLE EXPERIMENT TO CHECK THE RELATION BETWEEN THE EFFICIENCY AND THE KIT INSTALLED.

THE T TEST WILL BE BEST SUITED FOR THIS BECAUSE IN THIS EXPERIMENT WE WILL BE TAKING THE MEAN OF THE DISTANCE TRAVELLED IN BOTH THE CONDITIONS AND T TEST INVOLVES THE SOLUTION WITH MEAN.

TO IMPROVE THE TEST ONE MOST IMPORTANT THING SHOULD BE KEPT IN MIND THAT THE SPPED OF THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE SAME AND CONSTANT THROUGH OUT THE WHOLE EXPERIMENT AS SPEED AS A DIRECT RELATION WITH THE EFFICIENCY OF THE VEHICLE.
