a. 6.27% b. 10.67% c. 12.67% d. 12.76% e. 16.27%

Explanation / Answer

A)

Total Population during the year 2014 = 4,560,226

Incident Rate = 59.88 / 100,000

Number of incident cases of diabetes that were there in the city in 2014

= Total population during the particular year given * Rate of incident during the same year given

= 4,560,226 * ( 59.88 / 100,000 )

= 2730.663

= 2731 approximately i.e. option D

B)

Percent of all cases in 2014 were newly diagnosed

= Total number of incident cases during the particular year * 100

Total number of cases identified during the same year given

= ( 2,731 / 16,784 ) * 100

= 0.1627145 * 100

= 16.27 %

i.e. option E
