Read Please before answering: Write one sentence that demonstrates how the basic concept of the statement can be used to explain, understand, or be applied to an environmental science phenomenon Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapor absorb different amounts of IR light per molecule. The earth's orbit does not always form the same ellipse, it wobbles as it rotates on its axis, and the tilt of the earth's axis changes. Ice cores in Greenland and Antarctica have annual layers of ice that can be distinguished The first law of thermodynamics says that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed from one form to another. The second law of thermodynamics says that natural processes go in a direction that increases the entropy of the universeExplanation / Answer
1-All these gases are serves to keep the heat near the surface, effectively insulating the surface from the cold of space,an effect called Greenhouse effect but as among all these CO2 is in larger percentage & amount of IR absorbed & radiated is more it is major factor for greenhouse effect & global warming.
2- As the rotational axis wobbles, it also tilts back and forth providing an influence on the Earth's climatic changes because it is the tilt with respect to the ecliptic that gives us seasons in the first place & so it follows that any change in the tilt is likely to change the nature of the seasons like could become more winter like or more summer like depending on the tilt.
3- This is used to reconstruct a climatic record over the age range of the core, normally through isotopic analysis enabling the reconstruction of local temperature records and the history of atmospheric composition.
4- Living organisms need continues energy (eg. Plants need sunlight as an energy to continue its function) to carry our their function, or in other words, keep living, because they cannot produce their own energy,
or
The total number of calories in the heat, sound waves, air pollution, etc. produced by a machine must equal the chemical energy-also in calories-placed in the fuel tank.
5-During every energy transfer or transformation, some energy becomes disorder energy, which means it is unstable and cannot do work anymore, thus living organisms need a continues energy supplier, so they can carry on work.
or
It is a fact that virtually all materials useful to modern society carry a heavy burden of free energy-and ordinary energy as well-which they acquire as a necessary part of the manufacturing process, or which they possess in nature, as is the case with fuels & this "excess" free energy that gives all our favorite gadgets and trinkets such great potential as pollutants but It also forges a link of inevitability between energy in all its technological forms and the resulting pollution.
