Question

Sam started work at FarmMart and was put in charge of selling three types of fertilizer. Unfortunately he lost the price sheet and was too embarrassed to ask his boss for the prices again. However he found three recent invoices:
Mr T had bought 1 bag of AgriGro, 2 bags of BigaYield and 3 bags of CropMax for a total of $305.
Mrs G had bought 3 bags of AgriGro, 2 bags of BigaYield and 1 bag of CropMax for a total of $315.
Ms S had bought 2 bags of AgriGro, 3 bags of BigaYield and 4 bags of CropMax for a total of $480 — at least that is what Sam thought the total was, but the invoice was ripped so it was hard to read.
Let AgriGro cost $a, BigaYield cost $b, and CropMax cost $c per bag.

Explanation / Answer

If Sam is embarrassed about that, hes going to be fired soon, LoL. of all the version to ask the same question, this one made me laugh more... now serious, first transform the info into a matrix: a + 2b + c = 305 3a + 2b + 1c = 315 2a + 3b + 4c = 480 next lets transform it into a matrix without variables: 1 2 1 305 3 2 1 315 2 3 4 480 finally, apply gauss-jordan and give a conclusion: (gauss jordan steps are time-wasting so i jump the steps here) $a = 5 $b = 146 $c = 8
