I have a square feet and area question. I have this problem about a floor that I am going to tile and it asked for the area of a floor that is 12'6" width and 10'4" length. I looked the answer up and it says that the fraction number for iot would be 12 and 6/12 and 10 and 4/16 ....how are they getting the 16 number when a foot is messured by 12 inches? 1 foot = 12 inches so 12 feet 6 inches = 12feet + 6/12 feet = 12.5 feet 10 feet 4 inches = 10 feet + 4/12 feet = 10 and one third feet so the area = 12.5 * 10.33 = 129.17 ft^2 check with your teacher, the answer using 4/16 is wrong
