Question
Hi, I need help with this word problem that I don'tunderstand. It states a glider in Canada was towed 1000meters into the air and then let go. It descended 70 meters into athermal ( rising bubble of warm air,) which took it up 2100 meters. At this point it dropped 230 meters into a second thermal. Then itrose 1200 meters. What was the altitude at that point? Thank you....I am kind a lost in this question. Hi, I need help with this word problem that I don'tunderstand. so if the glider is towed 1000m into the sky the starting altidude is 1000m, it than desends 70m so 1000-70 which is 930m. from this hieght it its a heat thermal so 930+ 2100, which is 3030m. from there the glider began to fall again, this time 230m do it is now at 2800m. from there it goes up 1200 more meter so it is 2800+1200 so the glider is at 4000m.
