Question

Use your grid toapproximate the 6 trigonometric functions for 140, 235, and 310degrees, the check your approximations with the 3 trig

Explanation / Answer

heres one example try the rest on ure own this is very helpful ==> THE UNIT CIRCLE http://www.math.pacificu.edu/~emmons/Math226_F08/UnitCircle.gif on the unit ciccle the points represent values for sin andcos...the X's are COS and the Y's are SIN...so a random degree...uhh lets take 30 degrees..at 30 degrees the points are(3/2, 1/2) so that means the cos(45)=3/2 andsin(45)=1/2..............if u wanna find tan ..its the sin/cosnumber ....if u wann find csc its 1/sin ...sec is 1/cos and cot is1/ttan REMEMBER= dont get confused with the all the 's and thedegress...it is just a conversion they are the same value justmeasured different ways ( like 1foot=12 inches) the closest exact value of 140 for the 6 trig functions are either135 or 150 ..for the following i will randomly use 135.. sin(140) ˜ 2/2 cos(140) ˜ -2/2 tan(140) ˜ (2/2)/(-2/2)= -1 csc(140 )˜ 1/(2/2)= 2/2= 2 sec(140) ˜ 1/(-2/2)= -2/2= -2 cot(140) ˜ 1/ [(2/2)/(-2/2)]= 1/-1= -1
