If you are solving for x: multiply through with the natural log functions 2x(ln2) + 4(ln2) = x(ln3) - 21(ln3) get the x's on one side and the constants on the other x(2ln2)-x(ln3) = -21(ln3)-4(ln2) combine like terms on the left x(2ln2-ln3) = (-21(ln3)-4(ln2)) and divide :) x = -(21(ln3)-4(ln2)) / (2(ln2)-ln3) If you just remember that natural log of a constant is also aconstant, and can be treated as such, you should be fine on allthese types of problems ^_^ Hope I helped!
