Question
The answer is 0.03 But how we get it . Please explain step by step and make it clear to understand if we use table in this question explain which table. Thanks 11 A study was conducted to determine if there was a difference in the driving ability of students from West University and East University by sending a survey to a sample of 100 students at both universities. Of the 100 sampled from West University, 15 reported they were involved in a car accident within the past year. Of the 100 randomly sampled rom East University, 12 students reported they were involved in a c ar accident within the past year. What is the estimate of the difference, d, between the two sample proportions, , and ?, of students at East University and West University, respectively, who were involved in a car accident within the last year? 8-93Explanation / Answer
Solution :
Here no need to use any table.
n1: sample size of west university, x1 =number of reported accident =15
n2 : sample size of east university, x2 =number of reported accident =12
Proportion of student from west universiy p1 =x1/n1 =15/100 = 0.15
and Proportion of student from east university p2 =x2/n2 = 12/100 =0.12
So estimate of the difference d =difference in proportions = p1-p2 =0.15-0.12 =0.03
