Question
(20 points) A researcher asked students who had full-time jobs and students who had part- time jobs how many times they went out to eat in the last month. Dotplots of the data collected are below. Job Status Part-time Full-time 5 Meals Out Without doing any calculations, which group would you expect to have the larger mean of meals eaten out? Explain. Note that your answer and explanation should be based on what you see irn the dotplots, not on conjectures about why or how job status might affect how many times a person eats out.Explanation / Answer
Here from the dotplot of those who have part-time job we can see that the dotplot is right skewed and hence the mean of data will be around 2 or 3.
While from the dotplot of those who have full-time job we can see that the dotplot is left skewed and hence the mean of data will be around 4 or 5.
Hence we can infer that those who have full time job will have higher average mean of meals eaten out.
