Explanation / Answer

i) There 7 items on which they have to rank

We have to find all possible rankings when selecting 7 out of 7 items

It can be given by nPr = 7P7 = 7!/(7 -7)! = 5040

ii) So, test scores fixed at 1 st position , remaining 6 itmes they have to rank

So, It can be given as 6P6 = 720

Fraction of rankings putting test scores on first position = 720/5040 = 72/504

                                                   = 36/252 = 9/43
