1. Temporary methods :

i) Natural method : It include safe period(a week before or after menses), Coitus interruptus(withdrawal of male reproductive organ from femal reproductive organ before ejaculation).

ii) Barrier method : It include chemical and mechanical means.

III) Physiological or Oral devices : Birth control pills such as Mala D, Saheli pill are used to control birth. These pills check ovulation.

IV) Abstinence : The best and 100% reliable method to control birth is to abstain from sexual intercourse.

2. Permanent method : These include vesectomy in males and tubectomy in females. These are surgical operation which are minor and are usually performed under local anaesthesia.

3. Medicated termination of pregancy or induced abortion : It is one of the most widely used method in the world. It is done to get rid of unwanted preganc.

Sexually transmitted disease (or STDs) : These are the disease which are transmitted through sexual intercourse with infected persons. Common STDs includes AIDS, gonorrhoea, syphillis, genital herpes, hepatitis-B etc.
