Question
Bars AC and BC have the same length L and the same mass m. The two bars are connected by a frictionless pin at C that allows a free rotation of the two bars relative to each other. The other two ends of the bars are connected to massless wheels that can roll without slipping on a horizontal track. The two-bar system is pulled by a horizontal force P applied at B. It turns out that for a given P, there exists a value of 0 such that the two bars move without rotating with respect to each other (i.e. 0 remains constant). In such a case, Find theta as a function of P and sketch the plot of theta (P). Compute the limits theta (P)and theta (P). Find the forces acting on the bars at A and B. Show that they don't depend on P.Explanation / Answer
