The public likes to complain about environmental concerns, but what are we doing about existing problems? For example, I know people who are angry that the U.S. does not take stronger action against the release of greenhouse gases, but these same individuals drive gas guzzlers, live in large houses a long way from their jobs, and don't seem to be doing much to reduce their release of these same gases they believe are impacting the climate. The government has an obligation to implement environmental policy, but what about our own personal decisions? Are people really making a concerted effort to reduce, reuse and recycle? Should we get rid of our automobiles like many environmentalists propose? Should we even be worried about many of the well-publicized environmental issues? Have we become a country of environmental hypocrites?
Please comment on the above questions, and if you wish include any examples in your life that reduces your impact on the environment.
Explanation / Answer
In the today's senario the people like to play blame game and do not understand there role in helping the environment. Hence the environment is being degraded day by day. The government policies are not the only thing that can help this environment from being saved. The people are living a word of hypocrisy they only like to act on something when they feel immediate danger to themselves from the cause and do not like to take their responsibility at the earliest possible stage. The people are aware about the environmental pollution through the traffic and the excess use of vehicle but are not using these facilities causiously and thus causing a great to the environment.
The governmental policies are also only successful when worked with people at the earliest stage. The people need to work along with the government to make any policy successful. No, the People are not making the concrete use of reuse and recycle because these two thing can cause a decline in the need of new ore from the earth but as we can se the need has been increased even more. And the proposal of getting rid of automobile is not possible today but a being environment concerned we can switch them with better pollutionless technology like solar and electric automobile. We can also make use of public transport to help the reduction of fuel wastage.
The need to worry is our own because each and every person on earth knows this type of harmful environment will harm us in future or our new generation. And nobody wants to make his offspring live in a harmful environment. So being worried and concerned is our first need. And yes the country has become environmental hypocrites because the nature of only saying to do good, marching, protesting for better future. But not at all realising the responsibility is causing a great harm to the country
