Question
1. How much CO2 does the average world citizen release each year into the atmosphere? Assume a population of 7 billion people. Compare this number to the United States, China and Qatar.
2. Explain why the April 2011 tornado outbreak, which set the record for the most tornadoes in a singe 24-hour period, cannot be blamed on climate change.
3. In Illinois, during the summer of 2009 only two days topped 90 ?F. In total it was the seventh coolest summer on record. Does this disprove climate change? In what context should we view this cold summer in Illinois?
4. Why will there still be global warming if there is a complete cessation of CO2 emissions?
Explanation / Answer
1.The average world citizen release approx 30 gigatons co2 each year into the atmoshphere assuming a population of 7 billion people.
According to the most recent sources, China's co2 emmission per capita is near about 7.7 tons and the fossil fuel percentage is approx 29% among the whole world.United state's emissions per capita is approx 16 tons. and it's fossil fuel percentage is 14.3% among the all countries. Quatar's emission per capita is near about 39.7 tons and their fossil fuel emission is 0.25%. so it is cleared that the quatar is on top in per capita co2 emission where united states on top in fuel fossil co2 emissions.
2.April,2011 tornado, the most deadly outbreak was held in united states. the scientists do not blamed on climate change and it was normal.Several causes are behind that outbreak. these factors are-1. wtaer vapour,2. instability,3.vertical shear etc. That type of outbreaks happen every 10 to 15 years. This is very natural. When the hot air collisions with the cold air.the hot air rises up and creats an unstable atmoshpheric condition. After trying to bring balance , a supercell also errupted. At That time the hot air gets stuck into the storm and the cooler air moves lower. after these when upword and downword drafts become powerful, the tornado outbreaks happens. So , the april,2011 tornado outbreaks can not be blamed on climate changes.
4. If we stopped co2 emissions, global warming will not be stopped. Because when we burn fossil fuel once , the co2 spread in the atmosphere and biosphere. The co2 which releases once it will remain in the atmosphere for thousand of years. I(t circulates in rocks, mountains, limestone, carbon and fossils. co2 will be present in the atmosphere and environment unless the human remove it from environment. So in reality, after releasing carbon di oxide once in the atmosphere, it circulates through many years. so by only complete cessation of co2 emissions never help to stop global warming.
