Ans:
Some study conducted on the Easter island showed that the island was mostly covered with palm trees. The reasons that can explain why the easter islanders did not or couldnot stop themselves from stripping the island of its trees could be their lack of knowledge of natural resourses which led them to greedly habour those trees for their use . May the rate of their usewas much more than the rate the amount of time required by a single tree to grow. They failed in maintaining sustainability of the natural resourse. Other reason could be they tried practicing agriculture which lead to mass deforestion which they couldnt revive eventually. They might have majorly dependent on the vegetation than the ocean surrounding for their food.
Easter island is a perfect example for environmental disaster which happend due to unethical, sustainable usuage of natural resource and is also an evident for the environmental consequences due to human greed. In today's modern society, such environmental demise has taken place due to man's greed and still on the run eventhough today the world is very much aware of proctecting, conserving the natural resources.
Easter islanders 'predicament was not revival or revive beacause it was too late for them to realize the disaster or understand sustainability. Ours' predicamement is that as today the world is all about sustainability and the govenrment , individual promoting or making aware of the consequences of the deeds like the easter islanders, the society is still on the greed side to exploit the nature .
