Explanation / Answer

A trigger event is said to be a phenomenon in which there has been a drastic change in the intensity of distribution of certain biological species all over the globe. It has been reported that there was a rise in sea level hundred years back which is one of the trigger events that took place 100 years back. This report was based on general ice sheet models which confirmed about a certain rise in the sea level. This was also called the "Saddle collapse".

The main effects of this process was-

i) The main ice domes over north america was separated and it led to the massive openign of the ice free corridor.

ii) The time from the last glacial period in the pleistocene caused the rapid decrease in the ice levels due to the increasing amount of heat into the earth. Therefore the ice region between the saddle was completely melted and then there was the only existence of the saddle.

iii) The higher topography which was covered with ice earlier is now again exposed which led to the increasing amount of erosion in those areas and are generally giving rise to more and more rivers in the plains.

Therefore the primary process of the increment in the sea level caused the the above mentioned process to trigger and hence get effected.
