Proportionate Mortality Rates (PMR) for HIV/AIDS Deaths

PMR(HIV/AIDS) Manhattan = (Deaths caused by HIV/AIDS in Manhattan / Total deaths from all diseases) * 100

= (400 / 9652) * 100 = 4.14

PMR(HIV/AIDS) The Bronx = (Deaths caused by HIV/AIDS in The Bronx / Total deaths from all diseases) * 100

= (400 / 8691) * 100 = 4.60

Explanation: Deaths due to HIV/AIDs in The Bronx is definitely more than in Manhattan. Comparison here is pretty obvious as the numerator in both cases remaining same, the smaller number in denominator of The Bronx says that of the total deaths though small than Manhattan, people dying due to HIV/AIDs is more than Manhattan proportionately.
