Question
In the last 10 years, the SEC has had a team in the football national championship game 9 times (once, in 2011, there were 2 SEC teams). Over the same period, the Big 12 has had a team 2 times; the ACC 3 times; the PAC 12 twice, the Big Ten 3 times, and 1 team (Notre Dame) was independent. The only year that didn’t feature an SEC team was 2014, in which a Big Ten and PAC 12 had teams in the championship game. Based on the above, what is the probability that an SEC team will NOT make the championship game? .9 Who cares? I don't watch two teams from other conferences .1 .5
Explanation / Answer
if SEC made to the games 90% of the times or 0.9 probability
Assuming this trend continues
We can say or predict that it will make to game this year also with P = 0.9
So, it will not make through with P = 1 - 0.9 = 0.1 or 10%
