In what ways does your everyday life involve science?
By what criteria might you determine whether a question might be answered using the scientific method?
Identify a current piece of legislation relating to science or technology (perhaps an environmental science or energy bill). How did your representatives in Congress vote on this issue? Did they use scientific knowledge or receive wisdom to arrive at their decision?
Which, if any, of the following objects does not exert a gravitational force on you?
this book
the Sun
the nearest star
a distant galaxy
the Atlantic ocean
In what sense is the Newtonian universe simpler than Ptolemy’s? Suppose observations had shown that the two did equally well at explaining the data. Construct an argument to say that Newton’s universe should still be preferred.
How much force are you exerting when you lift a 50-pound dumbbell? What units will you use to describe this force?
How does gravity affect the flow of blood in your body? The flow of sap in trees? How have organisms evolved to counteract the force of gravity?
How does a sundial work? How would you build a sundial differently in Canada from one in Mexico?
NO PLAGIARISM!!!!!!! IN YOUR OWN WORDS
Explanation / Answer
In what ways does your everyday life involve science? Science involves in breaking the complex particles into simple particles while eating and provides energy which transfers into mechanical energy by riding bikes or driving cars. Science involves through combustion of fuels by burning in cars which provides movement. Science warns us through the pollution that created by car while driving and also provides a forecast that how the emission of heat in future will be a threat to humans and other living beings in the world. By what criteria might you determine whether a question might be answered using the scientific method? The criteria I use to determine depends on the question, that if a question can be proved with basic assumptions, then scientific method can be used. If the question itself is very basic, then there is no need to use scientific method. For example, to prove water evaporates to vapor, we can use scientific methods, but to prove whether what we see is water, there is no need to use scientific method. Identify a current piece of legislation relating to science or technology (perhaps an environmental science or energy bill). How did your representatives in Congress vote on this issue? Did they use scientific knowledge or receive wisdom to arrive at their decision? Environmental protection Agency proposed a standard for solid waste management principles in case of mercury pollution as proper control facilities have to be made. Representatives voted on this issue by using their wisdom and observation to decide on this. The observation included the reports received from the labs and site observations on how the mercury has affected the lands due to improper solid waste management.
