The shop ordered the same amount from Toronto and Ottawa. How many units were ordered from each supplier? There wereunits ordered from Toronto.units from Montreal, and units from OttawaExplanation / Answer
Solution:
Let x be the amount ordered from toronto and ottawa, and y be the amount ordered from Montreal.
So, 75 x + 50 y + 59 x = 6100................(i)
=> and , x + x + y = 105
=> 2 x + y = 105
=> y = 105 - 2x ......................(ii)
=> 75 x + 50(105 - 2x) + 59 x = 6100
=> 134 x + 50 x 105 - 100 x = 6100
=> 34x + 5250 = 6100
=> 34 x = 850
=> x = 25
and using equation (ii)
=> y = 55
So , There were 25 units ordered from Toronto , 55 units from Montreal , and 25 units from ottawa
