Click open with and select browse. Another box will aubiay Select Google Earth and then select OK. Google Earth will open. The tornado data aor will be displayed in the Places- Temporary Places of Google Earth. It might take a couple or minutes to load. A blue box titled, Tomado Tracks and Icons will be displayed in the center of tne Google Earth. To turn this box off, unselect the READ ME option located under Places Temporary Places. Answer the following questions 1. Expand the Tomadoes by F-scale layer and turn on the F4 icon. (Due to the large amount of data, the data might take a few seconds to load). Search or zoom to the state of Ilinois. Locate the F4 tornado that was on the ground closest to Springfield, IL and answer the question. What year did the F4 tornado hit Springfield, IL? With the F4 tornado path layer still displayed, locate the 4 tormado that started to the southeast of Decatur, IL and traveled to the northeast ending to the northwest of Danville Use the Show Ruler icon at the top of the screen. The Ruler box will display. The default option should be Line and the units should be miles. Determine the approximate distance of the tornado's path by left clicking once at the beginning of the path and left clicking at the end of the path. 1. Answer b:The F4 tornado hit springfield, IL on June 14, 1957 at 3:15 pm. The storm killed two people and injured more than 50 others. Also the storm damaged the property of about $ 3 million.

3. Answer d: There are 5 tornadoes of F5 intensity which hit illinois. One of the deadliest tornado ever recorded in Illinois was the Great Tri State which occured on March 18, 1925. Another was Plainfield Tornado that occured on August 28,1990 and Lacon F5 tornado of March 16,1942.  

4. Answer c: The 1990 plainfield tornado was the most devasting one that occured on 28 august, 1990. This violent tornado killed 29 people and injured about 353.
