Question

Okay I figured the fist one fine, and the second one I have figured out, but I can't seen to be rounding it right? What is the correct rounded answer to two decimal places?

A telephone line hangs between two poles 14 m apart in the shape of the catenary y = 24 cosh(x/24) - 19, where x and y are measured in meters. (a) Find the slope of this curve where it meets the right pole. (Round your answer to four decimal places.) 0.2958 (b) Find the angle theta between the line and the pole. (Round your answer to two decimal places.) Theta = 16.53

Explanation / Answer

If you have the slope from above, recall that slope is just rise over run, y/x! That is just that cotangent of the angle you are looking for.
Call the slope from part a 'a'

? = arccot(0.2958) =1.28
