Question

Subscribe Eventually, the Sun will 'burn' up the hydrogen in its core and move on to the next phase of its life. As it continues to age, it will become a red giant, planetary nebula and then finally end up as a white dwarf. Pick one of these stages (red giant, planetary nebula or white dwarf) in the Sun's life and describe what life on Earth would be like. Would we be be able to survive? Would it be possible to live on another planet, or moon? Which one? How? Explanation / Answer

sun provides us energy everyday without which we won't survive but there will be a time when all the hydrogen(which is a fuel for nuclear fusion) present in the core of the sun will get exhausted and eventually it will turn into a red giant without any energy left for radiation.

energy is released when two hydrogen nuclei reacts to produce helium nuclei by nuclear fusion, as hydrogen is present around 70% of all composition of the sun and helium approximately 25%.

red giant is described as large star of high luminousity and low surface temperatures , with no hydrogen left in its core for further nuclear fusion .it is late stages in the life cycle of a star such as our sun which is 4.5 billion years old.

with the arrival of sun as a red giant life on earth would be almost impossible to survive, the sun as a red giant with increased luminousity and even higher heat energy would be absorbed by the earth's atmosphere and eventually will increase green house gases and make earth warmer than before. further with sun's expansion many activities would take place such as all the water vapour present on the earth will be wiped off and a dry atmosphere will be left to survive which is impossible to.

sun's expansion will one day engulf mercury, venus and could even earth, and life will end on earth. prior to this earth would be a extreme hot and dry planet with no life existence just the planet Venus is.

habitants of the earth would only be able survive on any another planet only if they had a liveable atmosphere considering moon , it is not possible to survive as they have no atmsophere and even water present on the moon is negligible for human settlements , so moon has no option for human life.

considering Mars , our neighbouring planet and also planet which is believed to sustain human life, but practically no planet in our universe has a pleasing atmsophere than our earth, even it has it is millions of light years away from us, considering it will be virtually hypothetical scenario. sticking around mars and analysing it reveals that its atmosphere has 96% of carbon dioxide and oxygen content is below 1% so here also human existence is not possible . though water present here is founded out be true with the approach of mars missions
