For this weeks discussion write a paragraphic about our greater region’s most concerning geologic hazards. Please use examples and comment on each others posts. I live in Montana and discussion is in picture!INFO DISCUSSION LaRenzo Roanbear There are a wide variety of geologic hazards such wildfire, flooding, earthquakes, high winds, tornadoes, severe winter weather, and mudslides. But the number 1 geologic hazard is wildfires which have burned, just this season more than 8 million acres. The Forest Service has spent about 1.75 billion fighting fires so far this fiscal year. Severe drought that hit Montana, Oregon, and other parts of the west over the summer have contributed to these wildfires. The cause of wildfire can be attributed to 47 percent of wildfires being started by lightning and 53 percent being human-caused, this is still a geologic hazard which affects many lives.
Explanation / Answer
Geological hazards are taking place because of we human beings.As all of us use the natural resources to very greater extent. some of the geological hazards are like cutting down forest,digging into the earth for some resources,etc. Among these the main problem we were facing in environment today is deforestation. Deforestation is that the forest is cutting down and buring the trees and we are using the land for construction.Due to this the animals,birds,etc will dont have shelter and the population of these are falling drasticlly.And more over people use this forest for wood and not the forest area compared to the area before 30years.example of this geological hazard is like if the forest area is got cut down and that area is being used for some other uses the animals and birds etc will come into the places where people are living,in this situations people are afride of those and killing them.like wise the count of tigers,lions and etc are now decreased a lot.If this is not controlled there will be lot of problems that to be faced by the next generations.
