Explanation / Answer

The symptoms give a hint that it is a problem with thenervous system. The problem here is TIA----transientischaemic attack. It is due to lack ofblood flow to some part of the brain. This attack comes suddenly without any warning. It is a signalthat a stroke will come in the future. It shows symptoms like numbness and weakness in face and armand inability to speak. The reasons for TIA are: 1.The most common reason is due to an embolus or a clot in an artery of the brain.Thisusually comes due to atheroscleroticplaque. The carotid arteries   of the brain may getplugged or blocked due to deposition ofcholesterol and fatty tissue. If any arteries of the heart are clogged due toatherosclerosis then the clot maydislodge and close an artery in thebrain.other reasons are: 2.hypertension 3.heart disease 4.migraine 5.smoking 6.hypercholesteraemia 7.diabetes. 8.atrial fibrillation--irregular heart rhythm The anatomic structures involved are: brain and arteries involved. The arteries may be: 1.Internal carotid:---supplies blood to brain, eyes, parts ofhead 2.Brachiocephalic:---supplies to right arm, head andneck. 3.External carotid:----face and tongue 4.Left common carotid:----left side of head and neck 5.Left suclavian artery:----left side of head and arms 6.Radial artery---forearm,wrist and hand 7.Right subclavian artery:---right side of head and arms 8.ulnar artery:---forearm ,wrist and hand 9.Brachial artery----major supplier for upper arm andelbow                   so when a specific one of these arteries are blocked the specificarea experiences numbness and weaknes. hope this helps
