Explanation / Answer

Please note as per Chegg’s policy, I will answer only first four questions.

=>The earthworm always moves forward with its head. Therefore, to know which end of the worm is its head, place the earthworm on a rough piece of paper and observe which direction it travels. The earthworms head is closer to its clitellum (saddle).

=>The earthworm moves with the help of bristles under their body. They use their bristles as anchor to push themselves forward or backward using strong stretching and contracting muscles.

=>Since earthworms have sense of smell (and it does not like the smell of vinegar), therefore, the posterior end of the worm will be more sensitive to vinegar smell.

=> Earthworms are sensitive to light as they sense the light through their skin. They move away from light when exposed to it and exhibit negative phototoxicity.

=> The clitelium is a thickened glandular and non-segmented section of the body wall and is located near the head of the earthworm. Its main function is to store eggs of the worm.

=> Earthworms feed on decaying leaves, roots, animal remains, and some living organisms. They do not have teeth to chew their food. They take small portions of softened food and swallow them.

=> Earthworms come to the surface during when it rains to be able to move overland. Wet conditions during rains give them a chance to move safely overland as they are able to breathe through their skin on ground during rains.

=> Earthworms have closed circulatory system since its blood always flows through vessels. They have three main vessels that supply blood to different organs in earthworm.
