The mechanism for glucose-stimulated insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells includes the generation of an action potential that is propagated along the cell’s membrane, leading to the opening of voltage-gated calcium channels, Ca2+ entry, and insulin granule exocytosis.

Statement is correct. When glucose is present in high conc. It enters into the islet cells of langerhans and depolarise the cell which causes opening of ca ion channels. Opening of ca ion activated phospholipase C which synthesize the IP3 and DAG which causes more ca ion entry and release insulin from vesicles. It is called glucose triggered mechanism.
