Week 2:
The EBBD Simulation is intended to help you learn about the Bull-whip effect as you experience what it is like to be responsible for ordering a product to distribute to your customers.
Comment on this simulation. Did it help you learn? What did you like about it, not like? What are some ideas you have for making the simulation better?
Would you like to also play the role of one of the retail customers, ordering beer to stock in your store and having to deal with not getting your orders from EBBD on time?

The simulation was a useful tool to depict the bullwhip effect from data that was input into the system/simulator. The good thing about the simulator is there were two practice modes. Additionally, even when using the real simulator for the case you have unlimited attempts to get the score you want and make adjustments to minimize or eliminate the bullwhip effect.
What I did not like about the simulator is having to re-enter data from the very being if you leave the simulator idle for a period of time; it resets to the beginning. Also it would be nice if I did not have to scroll up or down for 25 weeks to verify how much I ordered. I also did not like how the graph chat plotted all data on one chart. I would have preferred to see each on its individual graph.
I also would have wanted to know what is the least amount of points a person could score in the simulator to strive for it.
To improve the simulator I would incorporate feedback received from retailers and the manufacture to better forecast how much I need to order per week. Also a previously stated separated each plotted graph on its own chart.
Honestly I would not want to play the role of retail customers if the simulator is going to be exactly the same as the one utilized in the case just reversing roles. It would probably have similar results
Explanation / Answer
Answer: The simulation program is better made and help to predict the quantity of units to be ordered with near to accurate results. The most important advantage of this simulation is the way the program is designed and the ease one can use this program for predicting the inventory levels. Also the simulation can be used many a toimes to get the desired out put and this is one of its advantages. This simulation eliminates th ebullwhip at the desired level of output and makethe process simpler to use and define.
The disadvantages of this simulator is related to some techhnical snags like not keeping the data into the records unless saved for more than 25 minutes. Also the data have to seached for the desired number of units entirely and not with click of a button.
