Which of the alternatives should the leadership team decide to pursue and why?

Leadership team is a group of members who in-turn take care of various teams. The team size may vary from 10- 25 ideally. All the members in leadership team may be called as Team leads. One team lead will have many members aligned to him/her.

The performance of team members will in-turn effect the performance of team lead. This results in the poor performance of his immediate boss which finally effects the performance of the company in the market.

Hence, it is very important that the leadership team should be capable enough to handle his/her team members i terms of efficiency and Quality.

Below are the various characteristic a leadership team should have:

1. Communication skills-

It is very important to have good communication skills as all the team members involve in various client meetings, presentations, interaction with team members. Any persons likely to listen to the speech of the person which is effective.

2. Knowledge-

As team lead is the position which is superior to entry level employee, he/she should have good subject knowledge so that all the questions asked by team members are answered effectively. It is not just answering to team members but also dealing the situation when he/she is questioned by the boss or the client.

3. Right attitude & Good behavior-

This characteristic is not only important for team lead but also for any individual. However, as the team lead will be the single point of contact for many team members so that he/she is approachable in case of any issues

4. Confidence and Spontaneity-

The team lead should be quick enough to analyze things and answer to the client's question on time with confidence

5. Un-biased-

Th team lead should treat all is team members equally without ny partially. Rewards, recognition should be given the members who perform well

Carolina Ingredients is food ingredient manufacturer which has wide varieties of food ingredients. Below are the MIS issues which are to be likely found in this case:

1. Testing before implementation-

As discussed in the case, Carolina Ingredients has undergone huge loss as the inventory management system did not yield good results. Hence, it is important to first identify our goals, requirements, expectations and test them before we decide to implement a new management system.

2. Data Maintenance-

A Sales manager should keep a track on the sales at-least in the monthly basis. He should be able to analysis at what point of time, sales of which ingredient will be high or low. This is very important so as to we can decide where to invest more to get good profits

3. Machinery-

Based on the number of manpower and sales, tools and machines should be utilized. This helps in completing the work quickly or increase in the production. Production should be done based on consumption.

4. Flexibility to use-

If you implement any system or any new machine, workers should be willing to use it and it should be user friendly.

5. Investment-

Investment should be done based on the sales of the product. An operations manager should be capable enough to analyze where or in which product to investment more so that company's revenue increases.
